Small projects can still carry material risk. The goal is not to pretend uncertainty disappears; it is to identify, allocate, price and monitor it before it becomes an emergency.

Find risk early

Planning constraints, title issues, site conditions, service capacity and market demand should be investigated before an unconditional commitment wherever possible.

Build buffers into the plan

Use conservative assumptions, realistic timeframes and contingencies. Confirm which party carries each risk under contracts and professional appointments.

Keep live risks visible

Maintain a simple risk register with an owner, response and trigger for each material item. Update the feasibility and exit strategy when the facts change.
